The Influence of Early Maladaptive Schema on Social Anxiety of Secondary Vocational Students:The Serial Mediation of Self-esteem and Intolerance of Uncertainty
Objective:To understand the influence of early maladaptive schema on social anxiety of secondary vocation-al students in the early stage,and the serial mediation of self-esteem and intolerance of uncertainty.Methods:914 second-ary vocational students were surveyed using the Young Schema Questionnaire-Short Form,Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale(RSE),the Intolerance for Uncertainty Scale(IUS)and the Social Phobia Inventory.Results:Early maladaptive schema and intolerance of uncertainty had significant positive correlation with social anxiety and significant negative correlation with self-esteem.Early maladaptive schema had a significant direct effect on social anxiety.The mediating effects of self-es-teem and intolerability of uncertainty on early maladaptive schema and social anxiety were significant,and the serial mediat-ing effects of self-esteem and intolerance of uncertainty were significant.Conclusion:This study found that the early mal-adaptive schema has a positive predictive effect on social anxiety,and this effect can also be realized through the serial me-diating effect of self-esteem and intolerance of uncertainty.
