The Relationship between Mothers'Socialization Goals and Adolescent Academic Burnout:A Chain Mediation Model of Growth Mindset and Self-Esteem
Objective:To explore the effects and the mechanism of mother's socialization goals on adolescent academic burnout.Methods:353 middle school students(198 boys,155 girls,mean age 13.83 years old)and their mothers were in-vestigated by Parental Socialization Goal questionnaire,School Burnout Inventory,Theory of Intelligence Inventory,Self-Perception Profile.Results:①There was a significant positive correlation between mother's socialization goal,adolescent growth mindset and adolescent self-esteem;②Mother's socialization goal,adolescent's growth mindset and self-esteem were negatively correlated with academic burnout;③Adolescent growth mindset and self-esteem had significant mediating and chain mediating effects between mother's socialization goals and academic burnout.Conclusion:Mother's socializa-tion goals can significantly negatively predict adolescent academic burnout through growth mindset and self-esteem.
