Job-Hunting Stress and Suicide Risk of Graduates:A Moderated Mediating Model
Objective:To explore the effect of job-hunting stress on suicide risk of graduates,as well as the mediating and moderating mechanisms of coping styles and social support,respectively.Methods:2838 college graduates were inves-tigated with the Job-hunting Stress Questionnaire,Suicidal Behaviors Questionnaire-Revision,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Social Support Rate Scale.Results:(1)Job-hunting stress positively predicted suicide risk,and positive and negative coping styles played mediating roles between job-hunting stress and suicide risk.(2)Social support moderated the associations between job-hunting stress and suicide risk,negative coping styles and suicide risk,and job-hunting stress and positive coping styles.Conclusion:Social support moderated the direct effect of job-hunting stress on suicide risk,and the mediation effects of coping styles on the relationship between job-hunting stress and suicide risk.
