Central Symptoms of Social Network Addiction and Its Network Relationship with Perceived Social Support and Emotional and Behavioral Problems of Secondary Vocational School Students
Objective:To explore the central symptoms of secondary vocational school students'social network addic-tion and its relationship with perceived social support and emotional behavioral problems by using network analysis.Meth-ods:A total of 2112 secondary vocational school students from 10 secondary vocational schools in Hunan Province were in-vestigated by the Social Media Disorder Scale,Perceived Social Support Scale,and Strengths and Difficulties Question-naire.Use SPSS and R Studio to analyze the data.Results:(1)The core symptoms of social network addiction were"preoc-cupation"(strength=4.28,closeness=0.01476,betweenness=6)and"conflict"(strength=4.15,closeness=0.01446,between-ness=8);(2)Emotional symptoms(strength=4.28,closeness=0.01544,betweenness=31)were the most central nodes in the whole network;(3)The network was mainly connected through conflict and family support(r=-0.03),family support and emo-tional symptoms(r=-0.10),and other support and prosocial behavior(r=0.15).Conclusion:The central symptoms of social network addiction in secondary vocational students are"preoccupation"and"conflict"."Perceived family support"and"emotional symptoms"are important ways to connect social network addiction with perceived social support and emotional and behavioral problems.
