Influence of Parent-child Relationship on Sleep Disorder:The Mediating Role of Loneliness and the Moderation Role of Mindfulness
Objective:Based on the theory of bioecology,we investigate the influence of parent-child relationship on ad-olescent sleep disorders, and the role of loneliness and mindfulness. Methods:A total of 911 junior high school students were selected as the research objects, and questionnaires were conducted using parent-child intimacy scale, the 12-item peer-related subscale of the Louvain Loneliness Scale for Children and Adolescents, child and adolescent Mindfulness Scale and insomnia Severity Index scale.Results:(l)Parent-child relationship was the influencing factor of sleep disorders in adolescents, and the worse the parent-child relationship was,the more likely they were to have sleep disorders.(2)Loneli-ness played an intermediary role in the influence of parent-child relationship on sleep disorders in adolescents.(3)Mindful-ness regulated the direct path and the first half of the intermediary model, that is,the influence of parent-child relationship on sleep disorders and loneliness in adolescents. The influence of parent-child relationship on sleep disorders and loneli-ness gradually decreased with the increase of mindfulness level. Conclusion:This study reveals that parent-child relation-ship can not only directly predict adolescent sleep disorders, but also further affect adolescent sleep through the mediation of loneliness. In addition, mindfulness can regulate the effects of parent-child relationship on loneliness and sleep disor-ders.The above findings provide theoretical support for the prevention and intervention of sleep problems in adolescents.
