The Relationship between Intimacy in Partnerships and Individual Career Goal Attainment:A Chain Mediation Model
Objective:To explore the chained mediating effects of goal coordination and perceived quality of advice in-teraction between partner intimacy and individual career goal attainment.Methods:Drawing on the transactive goal dynam-ics theory,a survey was conducted with 286 married individuals using measures including the partner intimacy scale,goal coordination questionnaire,advice quality questionnaire,and self-evaluation scale for career goals.Results:(1)Correla-tion analysis indicated significant positive correlations between partner intimacy,goal coordination,perceived quality of ad-vice interaction,and career goal attainment.(2)Path analysis revealed that goal coordination played a mediating role be-tween partner intimacy and career goal attainment.The perceived quality of advice interaction also acted as a mediator be-tween partner intimacy and career goal attainment.Goal coordination and perceived quality of advice interaction together formed a chained mediation between partner intimacy and individual career goal attainment.Conclusion:Partner intimacy not only directly affects the achievement of individual career goals but also influences the achievement of these goals through goal coordination and the perceived quality of advice interactions.
