Effects of Family Resilience on Undergraduates'Social Adaption:A Chain Mediation Analysis
Objective:To explore the impact of family resilience on undergraduates'social adaption,as well as the me-diation effect of personal growth initiative and meaning in life.Methods:869 undergraduates participated in this study.They completed a battery of questionnaires,including the family resilience scale,the personal growth initiative scale,the meaning in life questionnaire and the Chinese college student adjustment scale.Results:(1)After controlling gender and grade,family resilience had a direct effect on social adaption.(2)Family resilience indirectly influenced social adaptation through the separate and chain mediation of personal growth initiative and meaning in life.Conclusion:Personal growth initiative and meaning in life exerted a chain mediating effect in the impact of family resilience on undergraduates'social adaption.These findings are helpful to understand the mechanism of family resilience on social adaption from the perspec-tive of positive psychology,and to provide suggestions for promoting undergraduates'social adaption.
