The Influence of Community Participation on Life Satisfaction of Relocation Households for Poverty Alleviation:The Mediating Role of Community Identity
Objective:To explore the impact of community participation and community identity on the life satisfaction of relocated households for poverty alleviation.Methods:The life satisfaction,community identity scales and community participation questionnaire were used to conduct household surveys three times at an interval of about 6 months.The num-ber of subjects who completed all three times survey was 383.Results:Correlation analysis showed that community identi-ty and life satisfaction measurements at the three survey time points were all significantly positively correlated,while the correlations between community participation,community identity,and life satisfaction were different at different survey time points.The path analysis results of the mediating effect showed that the total effect of T1 community participation to T3 life satisfaction was not significant(effect size=-0.034,P=0.424),however,the mediating effect of T1 community participa-tion to T2 community identification,then to T3 life satisfaction was significant(effect size=-0.035,P=0.016).Conclusion:The research results may indicate that the community participation of the relocated households can help promote their life satisfaction by strengthening their community identity.
