Online Identity Experiment and College Students'Ego-identity Achievement:A Conditional Process Analysis
Objective:This study aimed to investigate the relationship between online identity experiment and ego-iden-tity achievement status among university students and to examine the mediating role of core self-evaluation and moderating role of online positive feedback in this relationship. Methods:A sample of 2242 university students completed measure scales of online identity experiment, online positive feedback, core self-evaluation,and ego-identity status.Results:On-line identity experiment positively predicted ego-identity achievement status.Core self-evaluation played a significant me-diating role in this relationship, and online positive feedback positively moderated the effect of online positive feedback on ego-identity achievement status. Conclusion:Online identity experiment not only directly predicts ego-identity achieve-ment status, but also affects ego-identity achievement status through the mediating effect of core self-evaluation and moder-ating effect of online positive feedback.
