The Relationship between Resilience and Non-Suicidal Self-Injury Behaviors in Adolescents:A Moderated Mediation Model
Objective:To explore the relationship between psychological resilience and non-suicidal self-injury(NSSI)behaviors in adolescents,as well as the mediating role of loneliness and the moderating effect of sleep problems. Methods:Using a stratified cluster sampling method,1100 middle school students in Changsha were selected.A questionnaire survey was conducted to measure demographic information, depression, anxiety,NSSI behaviors, psychological resilience,loneli-ness,sleep problems, and rumination.A total of 1011 valid questionnaires were collected. Results:Multivariate logistic re-gression showed that living arrangements, depression, anxiety, loneliness, and sleep problems were significantly associated with NSSI behaviors. In the mediation-moderation model, loneliness significantly mediated the relationship between psycho-logical resilience and NSSI,and the effect of loneliness on NSSI behaviors was moderated by sleep problems. Conclusion:Strengthening the resilience of adolescents, reducing their loneliness, and ensuring their sleep quality will contribute to the prevention of NSSI behaviors in adolescents.
