Dynamic Analysis of the Academic Influence of Five Psychological Journals from 2017 to 2022
Objective:To explore the academic influence of five psychological journals,Journal of Psychological Sci-ence,Advances in Psychological Science,Acta Psychologica Sinica,Chinese Journal of Clinical Psychology,and Chinese Mental Health Journal from 2017 to 2022,through a comprehensive assessment of bibliometric indicators and impact met-rics.Methods:The study employs bibliometric methods to quantitatively analyze selected journals in terms of publication volume,ratio of funded articles,number of institutions contributing articles,average number of references per article,self-citation rate,citation half-life,impact factor,total citation frequency,self-citation frequency,and cited half-life.Results:The journals exhibit diverse performance in terms of publication volume,ratio of funded articles,and number of contribut-ing institutions.Chinese Journal of Clinical Psychology leads in publication volume and total citation frequency,while Acta Psychologica Sinica stands out in the ratio of funded articles and the number of international citations.Advances in Psycho-logical Science excels in the average number of references per article.Generally,the self-citation rates of these journals are not high,but the rate is relatively higher for Chinese Journal of Clinical Psychology.In terms of citation half-life and cited half-life,the journals show distinct characteristics,reflecting the persistence of their academic influence.Conclusion:The five psychological journals each have their unique characteristics,strengths in academic influence,scope of collaboration,and international recognition.These differences reflect their editorial strategies,academic positioning,and their roles and impact in the field of psychology.The findings provide a reference for academic researchers in choosing journals for publish-ing their work,as well as guidance for the development and positioning of the journals themselves.
