The Relationship Between College Students'Violent Exposure and Online Trolling:The Mediating Role of Negative Automatic Thoughts and Moral Disengagement
Objective:To explore the relationship between college students'violent exposure and online trolling and the mediating role of negative automatic thoughts and moral disengagement.Methods:A total of 1313 college students were surveyed using the violence exposure scale,the negative automatic thought scale,the moral disengagement scale and the global assessment of internet trolling-revised.Results:(1)Violent exposure and online trolling were significantly posi-tively correlated among college students;(2)Negative automatic thought and moral disengagement respectively played a me-diating role between violent exposure and online trolling;(3)Negative automatic thought and moral disengagement also played a chain mediating role between violent exposure and online trolling.Conclusion:Violence exposure indirectly in-creases the level of online trolling among college students by increasing negative automatic thoughts and moral disengage-ment.
