Objective:To investigate the influence of job insecurity on emotional exhaustion and physical health,as well as the mediating effect of facades of conformity and the moderating effect of position. Methods:A two-stage longitudinal survey with a one-month interval was conducted on 631 employees.Participants completed job insecurity scale and provid-ed position level information at Time 1;participants completed facades of conformity scale, emotional exhaustion scale, and physical health scale at Time 2.Results:(1)Facades of conformity played a mediation role between the relation of job inse-curity and emotional exhaustion as well as physical health;(2)Position moderated the relationship between job insecurity and facades of conformity as well as the whole process from job insecurity to emotional exhaustion and physical health via facades of conformity.Specifically,as the position level improved, the effect of job insecurity on facades of conformity in-creased,which in turn related to more emotional exhaustion and severe health issues. Conclusion:Job insecurity influenc-es both emotional exhaustion and physical health via facades of conformity, and position plays the role of boundary condi-tion.
