Effect of Mandala Drawing on Self-consciousness and Emotion of Junior Middle School Students
Objective:To explore the effect of Mandala drawing on self-consciousness and emotion of junior middle school students.Methods:44 junior middle school students were assigned to an experimental group and a control group.Ju-nior middle school students in the experimental group participated a 10-week group intervention program.Children's self-consciousness scale,the positive and negative affect scale and the distress disclosure index were administered to the two groups before and after the program.Results:Compared with pre-training,the experiment group's score of behavior,physi-cal appearance and properties,anxiety,gregarious,the overall level of self-consciousness and positive emotion was signifi-cantly increased,the experimental group's score of physical appearance and properties,anxiety,positive emotion was sig-nificantly higher than those in the control group.Works of mandala showed less complex and more self-state and self-activation.Conclusion:Mandala drawing has obviously effects on self-consciousness and positive emotion of junior middle school students.School can make full play of mandala drawing to promote the development of self and the activation of self.
