Research status on the mechanism of sinomenine in treatment of Alzheimer's disease
Alzheimer's disease(AD)is one kind of disruptive neurodegenerative disease which can lead to severe cognitive dysfunction.Sinomenine can inhibit the activation of astrocytes, increase of oxidative stress and levels of inflammatory factors, protect neurons from indirect toxicity of astrocytes, inhibit microglial-mediated neuroinflammation, inhibit acetyl cholinesterase and β-site amyloid precursor protein cleaving enzyme-1 activities in AD,thus exert anti AD effects.According to review the molecular mechanisms of sinomenine in treatment of AD,we aim to provide a basis for the development of new drugs for treatment of AD.
