Clinical trial of clindamycin hydrochloride and meteonidazole liniment combined with adapalene in the treatment of patients with acne vulgaris
Objective To observe the clinical efficacy and safety of clindamycin metronidazole liniment combined with adapalene gel in the treatment of acne vulgaris. Methods Patients with acne vulgaris were divided into control group and treatment group by cohort methed. The control group thinly applied adapalene gel(once a day)to the affected area before going to bed.On the basis of the control group, the treatment group applied clindamycin hydrochloride and meteonidazole liniment(once a day)to the affected area every morning. Both groups were treated for 4 weeks. The clinical efficacy, degree of skin lesions, echelle d'evaluation clinique des cicatrices d'acne(ECC A)weight score,Dermatology Life Quality Index(DLQI)score, skin barrier function, recurrence rate at 6 months of follow-up and adverse drug reactions during medication were compared. Results Forty-six cases in treatment group and fifty-four cases in control group were enrolled. After 4 weeks of treatment, the total effective rates in treatment group and control group were 93.48%(43 cases/46 cases)and 79.63%(43 cases/54 cases),the number of non-inflammatory lesions were 8.60±1.83 and 11.24±2.06;the number of inflammatory lesions were 5.19±1.04 and 7.48±1.51;the ECCA weight scores were(23.38±2.86)and(27.96±5.42)points;the DLQI scores were(6.22±1.17)and(9.42±1.54)points;the transepidermal water loss(TEWL)values were(17.17±3.39)and(21.46±3.83)g·hm-2;the water contents of stratum comeum were(49.53±9.37)and(45.82±7.96)Acu;the sebum contents were 57.46±6.65 and 61.09±5.47;the recurrence rates at 6 months of follow-up were 2.17%(1 case/46 cases)and 14.81%(8 cases/54 cases);there were statistically significant differences in the above indexes between the experimental group and the control group(all P<0.05).The adverse drug reactions in treatment group were mainly mild burning or stinging skin, dry skin, and the adverse drug reactions in control group were mainly mild burning or stinging skin. The total incidences of adverse drug reactions in treatment group and control group were 10.87%(5 cases/46 cases)and 7.41%(4 cases/54 cases),respectively;there was no statistically significant difference in statistics(P>0.05).Conclusion Clindamycin hydrochloride and meteonidazole liniment combined with adapalene gel has significant efficacy in the treatment of acne vulgaris. It can effectively reduce the scar formation, promote the recovery of skin barrier function, improve the quality of life, and reduce the recurrence rate.It is safe and reliable.
