Establishment and evaluation of selection criteria for infusion labels in pharmacy intravenous admixture services
AIM To explore the establishment of selection criteria for infusion labels in pharmacy intravenous admixture services(PIVAS),and to offer guidance for the selection and subsequent performance evaluation of infusion labels.METHODS A decision tree for the admission criteria of infusion labels in PIVAS was established, performance parameters for the infusion labels were designed, and a performance evaluation and surface microbiological monitoring of the labels meeting the admission criteria were conducted. Finally, infusion labels suitable for PIVAS were selected.RESULTS Performance and surface microbiological monitoring were conducted on infusion labels that met the work admission criteria of PIVAS.The results of performance and microbiological monitoring for infusion labels from 2 manufacturers showed statistically significant differences(P<0.05).This selection criterion could assist in quickly selecting suitable infusion labels.CONCLUSION The selection criteria for PIVAS infusion labels established in this study are highly operational and practical, and can provide a valuable reference for establishing other related selection mechanisms within PIVAS.
