Study on drug-related problems in patients with cancer chemotherapy based on PCNE classification system
AIM To analyze the drug-related problems(DRPs)by using the Pharmaceutical Care Network Europe(PCNE)classification system to provide reference for pharmaceutical monitoring of patients undergoing cancer chemotherapy.METHODS The medication consultation records of tumor chemotherapy patients from May 2020 to May 2023 were collected in the pharmacy chemotherapy outpatient mission program and hospital management information system(HIS).DRPs were evaluated by PCNE 9.1 classification system, and the type, cause and intervention of DRPs were analyzed.RESULTS A total of 943 pharmacy consultation records were collected, and 674 DRPs were identified by clinical pharmacists, and the most common DRPs were"treatment safety and efficacy"(97.48%).Among the cause types,"possible adverse events"accounted for the highest proportion(78.2%),followed by"food interacting with the drug used"(6.8%)and"inappropriate medication time or interval between patients"(5.0%).For 674 DRPs,clinical pharmacists proposed 846 interventions, including 601 interventions at the drug level(71.0%)and 165 interventions at the patient level(19.5%).A total of 725 interventions were accepted(85.7%),and 523 DRPs were resolved(77.6%).CONCLUSION PCNE classification system is helpful for accurate analysis of DRPs,providing personalized pharmaceutical monitoring for patients with tumor chemotherapy, promoting rational clinical drug use,and improving the work efficiency and enthusiasm of clinical pharmacists.
