Construction of Jingxing Road and Its Influence in the Ming and Qing Dynasties
Traffic route construction was an important approach along social shaping process in moun-tainous areas during traditional era.Jingxing Road(井陉道)is one of the Eight Roads at Taihang Mountain(太行八陉).The traffic status of Jingxing Road enhanced with the development of traffic route construc-tion during the Ming and Qing Dynasties.Specifically,Jingxing Road constructed along the river valley and formed a road network including five lateral roads and ten lengthways road.The number of accommo-dations along Jingxing road increased and formed complex system with complete hierarchy and function.Besides,the regional traffic order had been established and formed preliminary institutional system.In conclusion,the traffic functional area in the mountainous hinterland of North China formed by natural fac-tors and social factors.
