There were complex migration situation of the non-native Jimi(羁縻)prefectures in the Tang Dynasty.Research on the origin and development could deepen the cognition about Jimi prefectures'catego-rization and make clear about the relationship between ethnic mobility and the migration of administrative districts.Migration prefectures had different types in different historical periods that was difficult to definite uniformly. But those prefectures had common characteristic that implied the migration prefectures could combine into native administrative districts. Most non-native Jimi prefectures in Guannei dao(关内道)were different from the migration prefectures in traditional Zhongyuan(中原).These prefectures did not have the corresponding relationship between the"original administrative districts and the migration administra-tive districts",which rooted in the decentralized political structure among nomads and the nomadic economic pattern.Since most of the non-native Jimi prefectures did not have the attributes of administrative regions, its attributes of bureaucrat-granting system were more obvious.
