The periodisation of the Tunxi mound tombs has been a problem that has plagued academic circles in the past.Based on the analysis of the placement of the funerary objects, this paper first argues that Tunxi tombs are characterized by one mound and one tomb, and the burial time of the objects should be at the same time. The unearthed bronzes are divided into Central Plains type, fusion type, and local type, and then the chronology is discussed. It is believed that the age of the bronzes could reflect that of the tomb.Combined with a comprehensive analysis of the primitive ceramics unearthed from the tombs,it is believed that M3 belongs to the early part of the middle Western Zhou,M1 belongs to the late part of the middle Western Zhou,M4,M6,and M7 belong to the early part of the late Western Zhou, and M2,M5,and M8 belong to the late part of the late Western Zhou or the early Spring and Autumn period. The periodization issues exposed in the previous debates are also analyzed. Finally,it is pointed out that the periodisation of the bronze tombs in the southeast zone should be handled with the perspective of integrating materials.
