In April 2021,to facilitate an infrastructure construction project in Yibin district,Luoyang,Henan province, the Luoyang Institute of Archaeology carried out an excavation of a Western Jin dynasty tomb(C11M265)northwest of the Sujiayao village. The tomb, which has never been looted or disturbed and is therefore well preserved,is an earth pit tomb with a ramp,a side room, and a rear room.Bone remains of seven humans and fifty-five objects have been found in different parts of the tomb. The tomb format and burial objects, which show consistency with those of the small and medium-sized tombs of the mid-to-late Western Jin dynasty, provide rich material evidence for studying the burial customs and society during the Western Jin.
