Shenliu cemetery is located about 500 meters southwest of Shenliu village in Linfen,Shanxi province,with a total area of about 60,000 square meters.From April to June 2013,to cooperate with the construction of the Zhang-Tai railway,the Shanxi Provincial Institute of Archaeology led the rescue excavation of tombs within the scope of the railway project which is 1450 square meters.A total of 49 tombs were rescued,including 35 Warring States tombs,of which 30 are vertical pit tombs and 5 are cave tombs.Burials are mainly ceramics,and sets of imitation bronze potteries and bronze belt hooks are of typical Jin style,reflecting the significant influence of Jin culture in this area.The excavation provides new materials to the archaeological study of the region during the Warring States period.
