Effects of Genotype and Environment on Polyphenol Content in Sweetpotato
The polyphenol contents of21 sweetpotato varieties grown at 5 locations were determined in order to select sweetpotato varieties with high ployphenol content. Results: The average polyphenol content of the21 genotypes is 0.485 g/100 g, with a range from O.302 g/100 g to1.092 g/100 g and with a CV of34.41%. The range of polyphenol content among the 5 locations is from 0.201 g/100 g to1.337 g/100 g and with a CV of 46.98 %. So the polyphenol content in sweetpotato is affected with genotype, location, as well as their interaction. Some sweetpotato varieties with high polyphenol content and high location stability, such as Jinshan1222, Zheda9201, Zhe34-81, Zhe255, Xu55-2, are identified.
