Toxicity of Three Plant Compounds and Effect of Enzymes on Tribolium confusum
Tribolium confusum is an important grain stored pest. The toxicity and mechanism of Neochamaejas-mine A,thymol and azadirachtin against T.confusum were tested. The fumigation and antifeedant effect of three plant compounds against T.confusum were determined, and the inhibition of three plant compounds to two target en-zymes activities in vitro and the effects on three detoxification enzymes activities were measured in this paper. The re-sults indicatedthat the LC50 of Neochamaejasmine A,thymol and azadirachtin to T.confusum were 28.366,51.009 and 42.201 mg/L after 24 h of fumigation, and AFC50 of non-selective antifeedant treatment were 6.630,2.862 and 0.489 mg/L after 5 d,respectively. The activities of AChE and ATPase could be inhibited by three plant com-pounds in vitro. After treatment with three plant compounds to T.confusum, the activities of cytochrome P450 and GSTs were induced to increase, and the activity of CarE was inhibited. In summary, the three plant compounds have certain toxic effects on T.confusum, and activities of AChE,ATPase and CarE were inhibited, and the activities of cytochrome P450 and GST swere induced.
