By using the monthly and annual total list of civil aviation meteorological ground ob-servations at Harbin Airport from 2011 to 2020,Harbin Airport AWOS data,Harbin Airport aviation climatology data and NCAR/UCAR FNL(accuracy 1°×1°)reanalysis data,a statistic analysis is con-ducted on the climatic characteristics and situation background of advection fog in Harbin Airport. The results show that the annual change of advection fog at Harbin Airport has fluctuating characteristics.Since 2019,there has been a trend of increasing frequency and duration, mainly occurring in winter followed by autumn;advection fog can occur throughout the day, with a significantly higher frequency of occurrence at night than that during the day and the time of dissipation is mainly concentrated at 08:00 followed by 22:00-01:00;when advection fog occurs, the wind direction is mostly southerly, and the probability of temperature rise is greater when it dissipates, with its maximum possibility of temperature rise occurring at(0-1)℃;the weather situation during the occurrence of advection fog at Harbin Air-port can be divided into three categories:post-maritime high-pressure,low-trough cyclone and weak pressure field, among which post-maritime high-pressure is the most frequent.
