To determine the risks of collision in the situations described in Article 224 of the Civil Aviation Air Traffic Management Regulations, improve airspace utilization and ensure flight safety, the article establishes a lateral collision model for general aviation cross-country flights and transport avia-tion flights during approach based on the Reich model and probability theory, verifies the reliability of the proposed lateral collision model by comparative analysis and evaluates the risk of collision between general aviation cross-country flights and transport aviation flights during approach. The results indicate that in the scenario assumed in the article, when the general'aviation cross-country flights and transport aviation flights fly at the same altitude and direction, independent operation can be maintained with a lateral interval of 12 kilometers. When the lateral interval is 9.6 kilometers,an additional longitudinal interval needs to be specified.
