Objective To identify the levels of blood pressure, blood glucose, and lipids in a group of railway workers from certain area in 2020,and explore the correlation among blood pressure, blood glucose, and lip-ids.Methods A total of 61 503 railway workers who participated in physical examination from January 2020 to December 2020 were investigated. The following parameters were analyzed:systolic and diastolic blood pressure, pulse pressure difference, body mass index(BMI),and the levels of fasting blood glucose(FBG),triglycerides(TG),total cholesterol(TC),low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C).Spearman's correlation and canonical correlation analyses were used to test the associations among blood pressure, blood levels of glucose and lipids. Results A total of 61 503 individu-als were studied, including 49 681 males and 11 822 females. There were 21 450 cases of normotension(34.90%),26 289 cases of high normotension(42.70%),and 13 764 cases of hypertension(22.40%).The prevalence of hypertension was significantly higher in men than in women, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.001).Spearmans correlation analysis showed that the systolic blood pressure, the diastolic blood pressure, and the difference in pulse pressure were all correlated with age,BMI,FBG,TG,TC,LDL-C,and HDL-C blood levels(P<0.01).Canonical correlation analysis showed that the correlation coefficient of the first pair of canonical variables was 0.428(P<0.05)in the male group and 0.435(P<0.05)in the female group.Regardless of gender, the group of blood pressure variables was mainly associated with the systolic blood pressure, while the group of glucose and lipid variables was mainly associated with age and BMI.Furthermore, the correlation between TG levels and the canonical variables was stronger than that of TC,LDL-C,and HDL-C blood levels. Conclusion There was a canonical correlation between blood pressure and blood levels of glucose and lipids. The two groups of variables affected each other and the latter had a greater impact on the former. Therefore, the daily prevention and control of hypertension and health manage-ment should be based on the whole individual. It should specifically focus on the integrated effects of BMI and TG levels on blood pressure,in order to provide railway workers with a comprehensive and accurate program for the prevention and control of hypertension.
