Analysis of the current competence status and training needs of health education staff in Shenzhen community health centers
Objective To investigate the professional capabilities and training needs of health education staff in Shenzhen Community Health Care Center,provide skills training for the organization,and improve the serv-ice capabilities and quality of Shenzhen's health promotion and education system.Methods Convenient sam-pling was used to sample health education staff in Shenzhen Community Health Center.The self compiled health education questionnaire of Shenzhen Health Education Center was used to collect relevant information of the research subjects by distributing electronic questionnaires.The questionnaire content included three parts:basic information,business knowledge of health education projects,and questions related to health ed-ucation theoretical knowledge.ANOVA analysis of variance was used to compare the scores of business knowledge and theoretical knowledge of health education projects among different demographic characteris-tics,and a multivariate regression model was used to analyze the influencing factors of different demographic characteristics on the questionnaire scores.Results A total of 132 health education workers were selected for this survey,including 21 males and 111 females:127 Han nationality and 5 other nationalities.Twenty of them were aged ≤25 years old,44 were aged 26 to 35 years old,51 were aged 36 to 45 years old,and 17 were aged 45 years old or older.97.7%of them had a college degree or above.The majors of the workers were public health and preventive medicine in 35 cases,clinical medicine in 10 cases,and other medical-relat-ed majors in 87 cases.The average score for the theoretical knowledge of health education was(74.23±15.07)points,and the average score of the basic knowledge of health education items was(75.57±16.54)points.The results of univariate analysis showed that the theoretical knowledge score of health education was different among different ages,academic qualifications,majors,and professional and technical qualifications(P<0.05),and the basic knowledge score of health education items were different among different ages,majors,professional and technical qualifications,job types,and years of working in health education(P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that age and education level were influencing factors for the theoretical knowledge score of health education(P<0.05),while major studied,professional and technical qualifications and years of working in health education were influencing factors for the basic knowledge score of health edu-cation item(P<0.05).Conclusion At present,the professional ability and quality of health education staff in Shenzhen are relatively high.Skills training should be strengthened for young,low-educated and non-medi-cal staff,so as to continuously improve the personnel advantages of the health education team and better pro-vide high-quality services to the people.Ensure health education services.
