Analysis on trend of mortality and disease burden for colorectal cancer from 2003 to 2021 in Beichen district of Tianjin
Objective To understand the mortality and change trends of colorectal cancer(CRC)in Beichen district of Tianjin from 2003 to 2021,and provide the basis for the prevention and control of CRC.Methods The monitoring management system of whole cause of death in Tianjin from 2003 to 2021 was used to obtain the monitoring data of whole cause of death in Beichen district. The CRC mortality, years of life loss(YLL),years of life loss due to disability(YLD),and disability-adjusted life years(DALY)were calculated. The x2 test was used to compare the rates, the used software was SPSS 11.5.Segi's world standard population composition was used for calibration,Joinpoint regression was used to analyze the change trends of mortality and disease burden of CRC,and to calculate the annual percentage change(APC).Results From 2003 to 2021,the CRC standardized mortality rate in Beichen district of Tianjin increased from 2.54/105 to 7.13/105 from 2003 to 2021(APC=4.11%,P<0.01).From 2003 to 2021,there was no significant trend in CRC mortality in the<50 and 50-59 years old groups(P>0.05),and CRC mortality in the ≥60 years old group increased significantly(P<0.01).From 2003 to 2021,the CRC standardized mortality rate of male residents increased from 2.85/105 to 9.75/105 with a statistically significant trend(APC=5.39%,P<0.01),and the CRC standardized mortality rate of female residents increased from 2.22/105 to 4.51/105 without significant trend(APC=2.22%,P>0.05).From 2003 to 2021,the CRC standardized mortality rate in males was significantly higher than that in females(Z=2.78,P<0.01).From 2003 to 2021,the CRC standardized DALY rate in Beichen district of Tianjin increased from 79.86/105 to 186.15/105 with significant upward trend(APC=3.02%,P<0.01);the CRC standardized DALY rate of male residents increased from 113.43/105 to 262.51/105 with significant upward trend(APC=3.87%,P<0.01);the CRC standardized DALY rate of female residents increased from 46.29/105 to 109.76/105 without significant upward trend(APC=1.87%,P>0.05).From 2003 to 2021,the CRC standardized DALY rate in males was significantly higher than that in females(Z=16.21,P<0.01).From 2003 to 2021,the DALY of CRC in residents of Beichen district was dominated by YLL,the proportion of YLL in DALY decreased from 97.25%to 94.79%.Conclusion From 2003 to 2021,the mortality rate and disease burden of CRC among residents in Beichen district of Tianjin increased significantly. It should focus on male and the elderly, strengthen the prevention and treatment of CRC,and reduce the death and disease burden of CRC.
