Change of diabetes disease burden between 2013 and 2018 in Chongqing
Objective To understand the change of morbidity, mortality and disability adjusted life years(DALY)between 2013 and 2018 in Chongqing, and provide the suggestion for improving the prevention and control measures of diabetes in Chongqing. Methods The surveillance data of chronic disease and its influencing factors, death registration data in 2013 and 2018 of Chongqing were used,SPSS 25.0 software was used to calculate the morbidity, standardized morbidity, mortality, standardized mortality, year of life loss(YLL),standardized YLL,years of life loss due to disability(YLD),standardized YLD,DALY,standardized DALY of diabetes. The x2 test was used to analyze the data. The used software was SPSS 25.0.Results In 2018,the mortality and standardized mortality of diabetes among residents(≥ 18 years old)in Chongqing were 20.53/105 and 12.22/105,respectively;which increased by 35.96%and 23.94%,respectively,as compared with 2013(15.10/105 and 9.86/105).The morbidity and standardized morbidity of diabetes among residents(≥18 years old)in 2018 were 17.90%and 13.59%,respectively;which increased by 11.25%and 1.19%,respectively,as compared with 2013(16.09%and 13.43%).The DALY rates of diabetes in 2013 and 2018 were 1 162.77/105 and 1 217.35/105,respectively;increasing 4.69%from 2013 to 2018.The standardized DALY rates in 2013 and 2018 were 944.92/105 and 937.72/105,respectively;decreasing 0.76%from 2013 to 2018.The YLL rate of diabetes increased by 28.44%from 2013 to 2018.The standardized YLL rate of diabetes increased by 21.75%from 2013 to 2018.The YLD rate of diabetes decreased by 3.38%from 2013 to 2018.The standardized YLD rate of diabetes decreased by 7.26%from 2013 to 2018.Conclusion The morbidity and mortality of diabetes in Chongqing are relatively high, and the disease burden is heavy. The standardized DALY rate and standardized YLD rate of diabetes decrease, while the standardized YLL rate of diabetes increase. It is recommended to continue to strengthen the early screening and intervention of diabetes as well as standardized management to continuously reduce the disease burden of diabetes.
