Evaluation on the Nutritional Value, Breeding and Development History of Main Alfalfa (Medicago Sativa) Varieties in China
In recent years, China's animal husbandry and Lucerne industry are at the stage of very positive development. Alfalfa (Medicago Sativa) with its good quality, easy to cultivation, occupies an important position in animal feed herbage, which has caught widespread research from domestic and international scholars. In this review, we focused on the commercialization, planting distribution, nutritional value, and breeding of alfalfa varieties, which aimed to provide reference for popularizing and applying the fine varieties of alfalfa in large area in China region, and also in order to provide theoretical basis for exotic alfalfa varieties could be better applied in the domestic animal feed herbage.
