Effect of Stubble Height on Productive Quantities and Qualities of Corn Silage
The effect of cutting height on productive quantities and qualities of corn silage were studied. The JINDAN42 corn hybrid was harvested at 0, 15, 30, 45, and 60cm stubble height, sampled and ensiled for analyzing the chemical composition, and the MILK2006 index was calculated. The results indicated that, the productive quantities were decreased significantly (P<0.01) with the higher cutting height, while the chemical composition, fermentative qualities, in vitro digestibility, and milk per ton index had no significant differences, the different of the milk per mu index was significantly (P<0.01). Considering the quantities and qualities, the corn silage should harvest at 15cm stubble height appropriately.
