Effect of Different Rumen Protected Choline on the Incidence of Ketonopathy and Blood Metabolism in Dairy Cows in the Late Perinatal Period
The purpose of this experiment was to compare the dry matter degradation rate and choline protection rate of two ruminal chines and their effects on ketosis incidence and blood metabolism in perinatal cows by nylon bag degradation test and feeding test. The study inclueded two parts:in experiment 1,the dry matter degradation rate and choline protection rate of two types of rumen protected choline(A as the control group and B as the experimental group)were measured on rumen fistula cows using the nylon bag method. In experiment 2,perinatal cows from a large-scale dairy farm in Guangxi were selected, and fed a diet containing rumen protected chloride A and B from 21 days before delivery using a phased comparative experimental design, the total mixed ration(TMR)formulation remained unchanged during the trial period. The results showed that compared with the control group, the experimental group has a lower degradation rate of choline in the rumen dry matter and a higher protection rate through the rumen. The incidence rate of ketosis in dairy cows in the experimental group was low.On days 14 and 21 postpartum, choline in the experimental group was able to increase blood glucose concentration. In conclusion, according to rumen protection rate, incidence rate of ketosis and blood metabolism results in dairy cows, the rumen protected choline in the test group is better than that in the control group.
