Experience and Methods in the Use of Anionic Salt Diets in Large-scale Ranches
Postpartum hypocalcemia in dairy cows is one of the common nutritional and metabolic diseases in large-scale ranches.Due to the elimination of cows,decreased production performance,and multiple concurrent diseases,it brings huge economic losses to the ranch every year.Anionic salt diet is a nutritional regulation technique used to prevent postpartum hypocalcemia,which is currently applied in some domestic pastures.The use of anionic salt diets requires high technical requirements from management personnel.Good use can effectively reduce the risk of postpartum hypocalcemia,while improper use may induce postpartum hypocalcemia and even damage the health of cows.This article summarizes the experience and lessons learned from the use of anionic salt diets in frontline production from the perspective of Wantou Farm,aiming to provide some reference for peer farms.
