The Impact of Different Saline-alkali Soils on the Agronomic Traits and Nutritional Quality of Sweet Sorghum
This experiment utilized two varieties of sweet sorghum as test materials, and the salinity levels of the experimental plots were classified as light and moderate saline-alkali soils.By comparing the growth performance of different sweet sorghum varieties under saline-alkali conditions, the key indicators such as plant height, stem diameter, leaf number, and major nutrients were analyzed to explore the agronomic traits and yield of different sweet sorghum varieties after planting in different saline-alkali soils. The results were comprehensively evaluated in combination with yield data. The experimental results showed that sweet sorghum planting can significantly reduce the soil salinity of saline-alkali soils, especially in light saline-alkali soils, and improve the soil salt status through root absorption, confirming its important role in the improvement of saline-alkali soils. Both the Alto and Zhongke Tian 438 varieties exhibited good adaptability in saline-alkali soil planting, but Alto had advantages in terms of yield, making it suitable for planting as a choice for biomass energy,high-sugar forage, and food processing raw materials.Zhongke Tian 438 performed better in agronomic traits such as plant height.Through gray correlation analysis,Alto 601 exhibited the best salt tolerance in the Ningxia Huinong region, with a superior comprehensive evaluation score. Therefore,Alto 601 sweet sorghum is an excellent choice for planting in saline-alkali soils in the Ningxia Huinong region.
