Research progress on post-stroke sleep disorders and their signal molecules
Post-stroke sleep disorders(PSSDs)are defined as a clinical syndrome that occurs for the first time after the onset of stroke and meets the diagnostic criteria. The incidence of PSSDs has a great impact on the rehabilitation of emotion, cognition and motor function of stroke patients. The types of PSSDs exhibit multiplicity, primarily leading to alterations in the sleep architecture of stroke patients. The mechanism of occurrence and development of PSSDs are related to the neurotransmitter agents, neuroendocrine hormones and cytokines.A comprehensive insight of PSSDs will contribute to timely identification and developing appropriate treatment to ensure recovery of patients. This article summarizes the change of sleep structure, the correlation between sleep disorders and brain lesions, epidemiological characteristics and signal molecular biological characterization of PSSDs,in order to provide reference for further research and clinical treatment.
