Study on Variety Differences in Cd and Hg Uptake of Pakchoi Under Natural Co-contamination Conditions
To study the effects of natural mild combined pollution of cadmium(Cd)and mercury(Hg)on the growth and heavy metal absorption of different cultivars of pakchoi, pot and field experiments were conducted to determine the biomass, vitamin C concentration, soluble protein concentration,Cd and Hg concentration of the edible part.It was found that all the measured indicators of 21 cultivars were significantly different. The Cd concentration was 0.185-1.25 mg/(kg·DW),and the Hg concentration was 8.56-238 p.g/(kg DW).And under both pot and field conditions, two of the varieties had a Cd bioaccumulation factor(BCF)<1,while all varieties had a Hg BCF<1.Correlation analysis showed that there was no significant co-relationship among edible biomass, soluble protein concentration,Cd concentration, and Hg concentration. The results indicated that there was no healthy risk for planting the 21 tested cultivars in the lightly polluted farmland, and'Naiyouxiaobaicai'is the most safety variety.
