Effects of Intercropping of Flue-cured Tobacco and Aromatic Plants on Growth,Development,Yield and Quality of Tobacco Plants
In order to explore the effect of intercropping of flue-cured tobacco and aromatic plants on the growth, development, yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco, field experiments were carried out to study the intercropping of flue-cured tobacco with lily, chrysanthemum, citronella and purple jasmine. The results showed that the effect of aromatic plant intercropping on plant height, stem circumference and pitch of flue-cured tobacco was not obvious, but the leaf area of different parts of flue-cured tobacco decreased to a certain extent.Intercropping with lily and chrysanthemum could increase nicotine and potassium content of flue-cured tobacco in middle leaf, and reduce sugar content at the same time.Nitrogen-alkali ratio and sugar-alkali ratio of upper and middle leaves were closer to the standard range of high quality tobacco leaves. The intercropping of flue-cured tobacco and aromatic plants mainly had significant effects on the aroma quality, irritation and strength of flue-cured tobacco, among which the treatment of lily and citronella intercropped with flue-cured tobacco had the most significant improvement on the sensory quality of flue-cured tobacco.Flue-cured tobacco intercropping with lily had the most significant effect on flue-cured tobacco yield, output value, average price, the proportion of high-grade tobacco and the proportion of middle leaves. In general, the intercropping of flue-cured tobacco with lily has the best effect on the growth, development, yield and quality of flue-cured tobacco.
