Spatial Extent Effects of Plain Landscape Patterns
Exploring the optimal scale of the spatial extent effect of a particular landscape pattern helps provide a scientific basis for land planning and management decisions for that landscape. In this paper, three pieces of 100 km×100 km square areas in the Yellow Huaihai Plain were selected as research objects, and the Landsat-8 remote sensing image data of 2020 were used to interpret the land use type maps. The spatial extent effect of the landscape pattern of the plain landscapes and its variation pattern were analyzed by calculating the landscape pattern index and conducting ArcGIS spatial analysis. The results showed that there were differences in the characteristics of the different landscape components within the same landscape. The landscape patterns in the three study areas all had obvious spatial extent effects, and with the increase of spatial extent, the extent effects of the landscape patterns gradually decreased and showed a stable state.Within the range of 20 km to 25 km,the difference in extent effect was most obvious;in the range of 21-90 km or 26-90 km,the difference in extent effect was smaller;the extent effect disappeared at the range greater than 90 km,suggesting that 90 km was the'critical threshold'extent for the study of landscape patterns of plains landscapes at large scales.
