Rural Revitalization of Super-aged Rural Areas in the Context of Chinese Path to Modernization
Chinese path to modernization is characterized by a huge population and common prosperity for all people.Adapting to the demographic trend is a natural and inevitable path for Chinese-style moderni-zation and rural revitalization. The continuous deepening of the aging population, coupled with the long-standing urban-rural inversion phenomenon, has led to nearly 1/4 of rural areas entering the super aging society at an advanced rate. These areas face practical challenges such as aging labor and talent,weak-ened rural development capacity, and increased demand for elderly care services. To cope with these challenges,super-aged rural areas rely on their remaining population and internal resource to maintain de-velopment.The rural revitalization strategy supports rural development through external resource inputs to solve the contradiction of insufficient rural development and bridge the regional development gap.Howev-er,regional differences in endogenous resources often do not align with the"uniform"development model in the process of rural revitalization. Therefore,to promote coordinated regional development, realize ru-ral revitalization in super-aged rural areas, and ultimately achieve common prosperity and Chinese mod-ernization,this study explores the road to rural revitalization suitable for super-aged rural areas. This ap-proach spans three stages such as ensuring basic security, fostering in-depth development, and integrating urban and rural areas, tailored to fit the different development foundations of super-aged rural areas.
