Rethinking the"Endogenous Development Theory"—Based on Rural Revitalization and Small Town Issues
In the field of international rural development, there is a long history of attention to rural en-dogenous power. In the 1970s and 1980s,Japanese academic circles rose to the discussion of"how to stimulate the endogenous power of rural development",and timely put forward the theory of"endogenous development",which sparked the discussion of rural development issues all over the world, and promoted the transformation of development theory. In order to tracing the source and further reveal essential char-acteristics of the"endogenous development theory",this paper reviews the comparative study of Fei Xiao-tong and Yanagita Kunio by Kazuko Tsurumi. It contrasts the paradigm of Chinese"southern Jiangsu"and Japanese"Oita"in the practice of exploring the development to deeply explore the theoretical value and practical significance of the endogenous development. This is an important reference for the ongoing rural revitalization strategy.
