Construction of A Hierarchical Service System Combining Medical and Nursing Care in Rural Areas—Based on the Empirical Research of M Village
With the acceleration of population aging, rural retirement has become a pressing issue in our country. The integration of medical and nursing care is widely recognized as a crucial approach to actively addressing the challenges posed by an aging population. This study adopts a hierarchical integration analy-sis framework rooted in holistic governance theory, and examines the practice of combining medical and nursing services in M village, located in the suburban areas of Beijing. The objective of this research is to establish a hierarchical integration system of rural medical and nursing services, offering theoretical and practical insights for future studies. In terms of vertical integration, the demand, supply, and integration levels of the three sub-systems elucidate the operational mechanism of combining medical and nursing care.Horizontally, the three supply modes of independent, auxiliary, and dependent medical care effec-tively cater to the needs of elderly care in rural areas. Therefore, the hierarchical integration of rural med-ical and nursing services demonstrates a viable approach to addressing the challenges of elderly care in China.
