Influence of digital finance use on the farmland transfer behavior of farmers
To promote the standardization of farmland transfer, based on the China Land Economic Survey(CLES)2021 data, this study employs a counterfactual analysis method using the endogenous switching Probit model to empirically analyze the impact and mechanisms of digital financial use on farmers'farmland transfer behavior. The results indicate that:1)The digital finance use primarily affects the land transfer behavior through two paths, which are increasing the probability of farmers obtaining agricultural production loans and increasing the probability of non-agricultural employment among farmers.2)The impact varies among households with different ages, land scales, income levels and household types.3)The digital finance use significantly increases the scale of land transfer, and promotes both land inflow and outflow behaviors.Simultaneously, the digital inclusive finance also positively significantly affects farmers'land transfer behavior. Therefore,to facilitate the orderly progress of land transfer, strategies such as encouraging farmers'willingness to use digital finance and enhancing their ability to do so,along with providing targeted guidance for promoting farmers willing to engage in non-agricultural employment and obtain production loans are put forward in this study.
