Analysis of the Current Situation and Countermeasures of Internship Efficiency for College Students under the Background of Popularization of Higher Education:Based on a Survey of 658 Students from 5 Universities
As the era of higher education popularization and the intensification of employment competition arrives,an increasing number of college students are opting to enhance their job market competitiveness through internships.Based on a questionnaire survey of 658 undergraduates from 5 universities who have completed at least one internship,it was discovered that the overall effectiveness of college students'internships is as follows,in descending order:value transformation, career development ability, general ability, and improvement in career confidence. There are significant differences in the effectiveness of internships among students from varying backgrounds, with a tendency towards"elitism".A further investigation into the factors influencing internship effectiveness revealed that the quality of students'internship investment, their motivation for participating in internships, organizational social support, and internship strategies all have a significant impact on the effectiveness of their internships.Among these factors, emotional involvement, intrinsic motivation to participate, and the alignment between the industry of the internship unit and the individual's future career development have the most substantial influence.Conversely, the amount of time invested in the internship and extrinsic motivation for participating in the internship do not significantly affect internship effectiveness. To address this, universities can effectively improve the efficiency of college students'internships by deepening cooperation between educational institutions, government, and enterprises to establish sufficient and standardized off-campus internship bases, refining the arrangement of internship programs, and constructing a robust internship management and support system.
