Provincial Evaluation and Obstacle Factor Diagnosis of Food Security in China
Food security is related to healthy economic development, social harmony and stability, and is an important guarantee for preventing and resolving systemic risks and safeguarding national security.Evaluating the development level of food security is a means to accurately grasp the current situation of food security development in China and rationally formulate national food security policies and measures.Based on the connotation and goals of China's food security in the new development stage, this paper made a quantitative evaluation of food security in each provincial region from five dimensions:quantity security, quality security, ecological security, economic security and resource security, and analyzed the obstacles and threats in China's food security. The empirical results showed that:from 2007 to 2021,the comprehensive evaluation scores of all provinces(municipalities and autonomous regions)(Tibet,Hong Kong,Macao and Taiwan are not included)fluctuated and increased;quantitative security and ecological security are the evaluation dimensions with relatively high weight, and they are also the main obstacle dimensions affecting China's food security.Based on this,to ensure and improve the level of food security in China,we need to continue to promote the construction of food functional areas, strengthen the construction of water-saving projects, and increase the investment in agricultural production.
