Asparagus is one of the important agricultural products in China's export market.Currently,Chinese asparagus industry has developed into a competitive emerging industry,occupying a pivotal position in global asparagus trade.Based on the asparagus export data from FAO and China Customs,this paper revealed the characteristics of asparagus export changes in China in recent 10 years.The results showed that Chinese asparagus exports mainly consist of fresh or refrigerated asparagus and canned asparagus,fresh or refrigerated asparagus mainly meets domestic consumption and exports to neighboring China and developed Asian countries,mainly produced in Guangdong,Hunan,Yunnan,Jiangsu,and Fujian provinces;canned asparagus is the main force of China's export earnings,mainly produced in four provinces:Fujian,Shandong,Anhui,and Shanxi,and exports to EU markets such as Spain,Germany,the Netherlands,France,and Denmark.In recent years,affected by the trade barriers in developed countries,the COVID-19,and other factors,China's asparagus exports have shown a significant downward trend.Based on the analysis of Chinese asparagus export situation,in order to promote the high-quality development of China's asparagus industry,it was proposed to improve the precision and deep processing technology of asparagus to increase product added value,develop a large scale to create an asparagus industry cluster,actively respond to trade barriers to improve the international market competitiveness of asparagus,implement organic certification and standardization strategies to improve the quality and safety standards of asparagus,implement diversified strategies to further expand the export market of asparagus.Finally,the future export prospects of Chinese asparagus were forecasted.
