RESEARCH ON THE NON-LINEAR EFFECT OF CULTIVATED LAND FRAGMENTATION ON GRAIN PRODUCTION TECHNICAL EFFICIENCY——ANALYSIS OF THE MEDIATING EFFECT BASED ON FARMERS'CONCURRENT BUSINESS
Clarifying the nonlinear impact and mechanism of cultivated land fragmentation on the grain production technical efficiency and its mechanism is of great significance for improving grain yield and ensuring China's food security in China.Based on the field survey data of 603 farmers in Shaanxi province, this paper measured the technical efficiency of grain production of farmers through data envelopment analysis(DEA)model, and analyzed and discussed the direct effect of cultivated land fragmentation on the technical efficiency of grain production and the mediating effect of the transmission of farmers'concurrent business. The results were showed as follows.(1)The average technical efficiency of grain production of all farmers in the surveyed area was low and highly differentiated;(2)The effect of cultivated land fragmentation on grain production technical efficiency showed a weakly significant"inverted U"shaped relationship;(3)The effect of farmers'concurrent business on grain production technical efficiency showed a significant"U"shaped relationship;(4)Farmers'concurrent business had played a partial mediating effect in the impact of cultivated land fragmentation on the grain production technical efficiency. Therefore,in order to solve the problem of cultivated land fragmentation,it should adopt multiple approaches and promote moderate scale management, and then relying on the differences in individual farmers'characteristics, targeted guidance should be given to the rational differentiation of farmers'occupations.
