THE IMPACT OF DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION ON AGRICULTURAL CARBON PRODUCTIVITY
To explore the impact of digital transformation on agricultural carbon productivity, and to provide new ideas for promoting low-carbon and green development in agriculture.Based on provincial panel data in China, this article systematically constructed an evaluation index system for agricultural digital transformation, and used a dynamic panel threshold model to explore the nonlinear impact of digital transformation on agricultural carbon productivity from the perspective of environmental regulation. The results listed that:(1) The overall level of digital transformation in Chinese agriculture showed a stable upward trend from 2012 to 2021,with significant differences between provinces;(2) There was a critical effect of digital transformation on the improvement of agricultural carbon productivity.A lower level of environmental regulation would inhibit the ability of digital transformation to improve agricultural carbon productivity. However,as the level of environmental regulation increased and exceeded the critical value, digital transformation to some extent improved agricultural carbon productivity. Therefore,we need to accelerate the process of digital transformation in agriculture and inject strong impetus into the improvement of agricultural carbon productivity. At the same time, environmental regulations should be kept within a reasonable range, and the path of promoting agricultural carbon productivity through digital transformation should be optimized according to the actual situation in different regions, providing long-term support for low-carbon and green development of agriculture.
