Reflections on the Curriculum Development for Professional Master's Degree Program in Design Discipline from the Perspective of New Liberal Arts
From the new liberal arts perspective, professional master's talents in design discipline exhibit characteristics of diversity, openness, innovation, practicality, and interdisciplinarity. In response to these characteristics, curriculum development for professional master's programs in design discipline should emphasize the diversity of learning methods and the transdisciplinary nature of learning environments within the framework of interdisciplinary concept. On this basis,it is argued that the approach should focus on two aspects, namely the application of collaborative and linked curriculum chains and the construction of distinctive curriculum modules. This will cultivate students'learning logic of"enterprise demands—data analysis—knowledge depth",thus achieving the integration of knowledge across boundaries, enhancing students'academic insight, and establishing their active learning awareness.
